MicroPower Technologies has amazing technology for ultra power efficient wireless cameras. These cameras require such little input power (200mW or less) that they are truly wireless (batteries or small solar panels instead of wired power). They have a range of up to 1 mile outdoors, 1000 feet indoors at VGA resolution and 30fps.

The cameras come in two forms: the Rugged-i™ which is a standard outdoor fixed camera with integrated solar panel; and the Mini-i™ 2"x3.5" wearable camera with rechargeable cell phone batteries that allow it to run for up to 12 hours.
